Southern Nevada Anthropomorphic Events is a non-profit corporation organized pursuant to Chapter 82 of the Nevada Revised Statutes.
Our mission is to support and promote the community of enthusiasts of art and other media, especially such art revolving around anthropomorphic animals, in Southern Nevada by organizing events where such enthusiasts can learn, create, interact, and showcase their work with others in this community, and to educate both members of the community and of the general public about this artform. We raise funds for both the organization and for local charities.
We were founded on June 25, 2022 by a group of local furries. Our primary mission is to help grow the furry community in Southern Nevada by creating a furry convention in the Las Vegas Valley run for and by locals, and to be as open and democratic as possible while doing so.
Organizational Structure
Our organization is made up of three groups. Through a series of elections and appointments, each of the three groups has ability to direct the other two.
The Board of Directors
The Board of Directors is the body ultimately in charge of the organization. Elected by the Members of the organization, the Board of Directors meets at least once a month to approve resolutions detailing what actions the organization should take. To actually execute these resolutions, the Board appoints members of the Staff.
The Staff
The Staff is the collective name for all officers who are appointed by the Board of Directors. These include the Chair, the Vice Chair, the Secretary, the Treasurer, the Department Heads, and all other officers who work under them. These officers are the people on the ground, the people who lead volunteers and direct guests. While the Board decides, it is the Staff that does.
The Recruits
Finally, we have the Recruits. These are the various furs who, whether it be out of duty, interest, or just because they find it fun, spend some of their time assisting staff. In exchange for their time, Recruits get perks, experience, and the ability to direct the future of the organization by voting in elections for the Board of Directors.
