Southern Nevada Anthropomorphic Events is a non-profit corporation organized pursuant to Chapter 82 of the Nevada Revised Statutes.
Our mission is to support and promote the community of enthusiasts of art and other media, especially such art revolving around anthropomorphic animals, in Southern Nevada by organizing events where such enthusiasts can learn, create, interact, and showcase their work with others in this community, and to educate both members of the community and of the general public about this artform. We raise funds for both the organization and for local charities.
(SNV Anthro Events Bylaws § 2.02)
We were founded on June 25, 2022 by a group of local furries. Our primary mission is to help grow the furry community in Southern Nevada by creating a furry convention in the Las Vegas Valley run for and by locals, and to be as open and democratic as possible while doing so.
Organizational Structure
Our organization is made up of three groups: the General Membership, the Board of Directors, and the Standing Committees. Through a system of elections and appointments, each of the three groups has ability to direct the other two.
General Membership
The members of the organization consist of individuals who have proven themselves by putting in the time to help SNV Anthro Events accomplish its mission.
The Board of Directors
The Board of Directors is the governing body of the organization and acts on behalf of the General Membership. Elected by the members of the organization, the Board of Directors meets at least once a quarter to approve resolutions detailing what actions the organization should take. The Board also has final approval over the annual budget.
Committees
LVFC Committee
The Las Vegas Fur Con Committee is the committee tasked with organizing Las Vegas Fur Con (LVFC), the flagship event of Southern Nevada Anthropomorphic Events.
